The Pilates Studio Interior design Success Combo:

The Great History of pilates. The Brand. The Design Values to create a space with Zen.

The “Release Studio” is already a well-known boutique pilates & wellness studio in Thessaloniki , by Fani Antoniou Interior Design & Partners in 2024.

The design values sought to merge the meaning of the brand’s name, Release Studio -symbolizing freedom of the body & mind- with the story and philosophy of Joseph Pilates, whose method of training redefined the relationship between movement, strenght, and well-being.

The studio was designed to embody light, warmth, and elegance. The space is flooded with natural daylight, creating an uplifting and serene atmosphere that supports both focus and relaxation. Strong wooden elements run throughout the interior, adding a sense of grounding, texture, and timeless quality. A special mix of interior styles such as mid-century modern & Japandi elements have come together to create a unique harmonious interior with bold aesthetics.

The Pilates studio Design: Emphasizing an airy, open layout providing a sense of freedom

The studio is fully equipped with state-of-the-art Pilates equipment, arranged to balance functionality with spatial harmony and comfort. Minimal lines and carefully curated details elevate the design, ensuring a clean and contemporary aesthetic while maintaining a welcoming environment.

The entrance area serves as both a reception and a welcoming space, deliberately moving away from the conventional reception desk concept. Open and approachable, it sets the tone for the journey inside, establishing the studio as an environment of elegance and well-being rather than a traditional fitness facility. Soft, off-white curtains frame the interior, introducing movement and fluidity. Their semi-opaque fabric filters natural light beautifully, diffusing it into a gentle glow. As they sway lightly with air currents, they add a poetic sense of rhythm to the space—almost choreographic—turning light and fabric into an integral part of the spatial experience.

Lighting study, Bespoke Furniture & Interior Branding : A vital role to every business space

Lighting design plays a vital role in shaping the studio’s atmosphere. Wall sconces create a soft and ambient glow, while ceiling spotlights and custom luminaires provide focused illumination where needed, balancing functionality with mood. This layered lighting scheme allows the space to shift seamlessly between energetic practice and serene relaxation, enhancing the overall sensory experience.

A bespoke wooden installation with integrated hidden lighting becomes a central feature of the space. It not only organizes the equipment, Pilates balls and accessories, but also introduces a subtle glow that enhances the sense of calm. Decorative Zen-inspired objects carefully placed on the structure bring a touch of mindfulness, encouraging a deeper connection between body and environment.

Brand identity was also integrated directly into the interior design. A custom-made installation of the Release Studio logo was crafted in metal, positioned with precision and accentuated by dedicated lighting. Floating elegantly within the space, this branded feature acts as both a design statement and a symbolic anchor, reinforcing the studio’s identity as The Art of Ability.

The Decoration & Interior styling of the Pilates studio

Styling elements complete the overall experience, enriching the atmosphere with subtle yet thoughtful details. Carefully placed plants introduce freshness and vitality, while textured accessories, soft throws, and curated objects add layers of tactility and comfort. Magazines and lifestyle accents invite moments of pause, and even the presence of a coffee station contributes to the sense of hospitality and belonging. These details, though small, are essential in shaping the studio’s character, making it not just a place of practice but a holistic environment where people feel at ease and inspired.

For the studio, Fani Antoniou also created a large conceptual artwork. The piece showcases images of Joseph Pilates and tells the story of his life and methodology, turning it into both a decorative focal point and a narrative element that connects visitors with the origins and philosophy of the practice.”

With its bright openness, natural materials, refined detailing, carefully orchestrated lighting, integrated brand storytelling, and thoughtful styling, Release Studio offers more than just a place to exercise – it becomes a holistic wellness environment where movement, design, and serenity coexist seamlessly.
